Three of our agriculture teachers, Liz Flanagan, Bryan Cole, and Ashley Bringle recently completed the CASE AFNR course held July 21-31 in Memphis. They are the first group of TCS teachers to become CASE Certified. All three did an excellent job of acting both as a student and a teacher when completing 180 days’ worth of instruction in less than two weeks, and they are now certified in a powerful tool available for the advancement of agricultural education and enhancement of student learning of agricultural science subject matter.

2nd Annual HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and BGLO (Black Greek Letter Organization) Day

Our 2nd annual HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and BGLO (Black Greek Letter Organization) day was a HUGE success! Students were able to discuss different college and career options with representatives from the Army, Tennessee State University, TCAT-Covington, LeMoyne-Owen, UT Martin, University of Memphis, UT Knoxville, UT Martin-Ripley, Dyersburg State Community College, MTSU, Rust College, and Federal Express. Students were also able to talk about Greek life with members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, and Zeta Phi Beta. Several CHS students provided music for the day. Three speakers also discussed college, career, and life with the Juniors and Seniors. Eyes were opened, connections were made, and scholarships were offered! It was a great day to be a CHARGER! 💜⚡️💛
